The Perfect Union
Every year in the coldest weeks of the winter season, strange sculptures begin to appear in the fields all over the island. It is the moment for grafting.
Wild olive trees grow throughout the island and they produce perfectly tiny olives with a thin and bitter skin. However, though the oil from wild olives is supposedly superior to that of domesticated varieties, the yield is much, much lower. And so the grafting game begins. La Residenza
Designed as a hideaway for those seeking the peace and silence of the countryside, La Residenza was created out of all natural materials and was furnished with a selection of pieces from leading artisanal Italian design companies. It is a private, independent structure tucked into the hillside with a small patio surrounded by stone walls and an herb garden.

The matter-of-fact name La Residenza comes from the original purpose of the building; this little abode was refurbished to host creatives and designers while visiting in residence with Pretziada. It is fundamental to us that the creatives we host can absorb as much as possible of the territory and its heritage. With that in mind, we designed La Residenza using natural materials found historically on the island. The caned ceilings, the tiled roof, the thick walls, the stone courtyards, and the built-in niches are all components of the original houses that were on the property.

Using the same concept that animates the design work of Pretziada, La Residenza was built as a
contemporary, rural and completely Sardinian home. This furriadroxu honors the heritage of the island by giving it new life, free from dusty paradigms, incorporated into the community of which Pretziada is an intimate part.

While families are welcome at Luxi Bia, the property and the houses have not been designed with small children in mind. The property is very natural, with stone walls and steps. The houses are furnished with artisan works, including design pieces from our collection, as well as vintage finds. They require appropriate treatment and attention. We reserve the right to invoice any damages incurred.
